This Cookie Policy explains how Esperanza Tourism uses cookies and similar browser storage when you visit esperanzatourism.com. It should be read together with our Privacy Policy.
1. What cookies are
Cookies are small text files that a website can place on a browser or device. Websites may also use local storage, session storage and similar technologies to remember preferences, maintain sessions or support website features.
2. Cookie categories used on this website
Our consent controls are designed around three categories:
- Essential: required for security, sessions, forms, account features and remembering your privacy choices. These cannot be switched off through the consent banner because the website may not function correctly without them.
- Analytics: optional technologies that help us understand how visitors use the website, which pages perform well and where navigation or performance can be improved.
- External media: optional third-party content such as maps, videos or other embedded services that may set or read their own cookies or similar technologies when allowed to load.
3. Essential cookies and storage
Essential technologies may be used to keep sessions secure, protect forms, maintain authenticated account features, prevent abuse and remember the cookie preferences you selected. They are used only where reasonably necessary for website operation, security or a service you requested.
4. Analytics cookies
Analytics is disabled by default until you choose to allow it through the cookie banner. If analytics is enabled, we may use a configured analytics service such as Google Analytics or a first-party analytics tool to understand website traffic, device categories, page performance and general usage patterns.
We do not use the cookie banner to grant advertising or personalised-advertising permission. Advertising storage is kept disabled by the website consent configuration unless the system is intentionally changed in the future and this policy is updated.
5. External media
Some pages may contain optional embedded maps, videos or other third-party content. Where our consent controls support it, that content remains blocked until you allow the External media category. Once loaded, the third-party provider may process technical information under its own privacy and cookie terms.
6. How consent works
When you first visit the website, optional analytics and external media are off. You can:
- accept all optional categories;
- reject optional categories and continue with essentials only; or
- open the preferences panel and choose analytics and external media separately.
Consent should be a clear and affirmative choice. You can change or withdraw your optional choices later by using Cookie settings in the website footer.
7. How long we remember your choice
The website currently stores the cookie-consent record for up to 180 days so that you are not asked on every visit. We may ask again sooner if the consent model or this policy changes materially, if browser storage is cleared, or if the consent record cannot be read.
8. Browser controls
Most browsers allow you to view, block or delete cookies. Blocking essential cookies may prevent login, forms or other website functions from working correctly. Browser controls operate separately from the preferences saved through our website banner.
9. Third-party services
Third-party services may have their own retention periods, identifiers and privacy practices. Where a third-party service is optional and supported by our consent controls, we aim to prevent it from loading until the relevant optional category has been allowed.
10. International processing
Some technology providers may process technical data outside Kenya. Where personal data is transferred internationally, our handling of that data is subject to our Privacy Policy, applicable contractual safeguards and Kenyan data-protection requirements.
11. Your privacy rights
Kenyan data-protection law gives data subjects rights relating to the use of personal data. Further information is available from the Office of the Data Protection Commissioner. Details about the personal data we collect, purposes of processing and how to make a privacy request are set out in our Privacy Policy.
12. Updates to this policy
We may update this Cookie Policy when our website, analytics, embedded services or legal requirements change. A new effective or review date will be shown at the top of this page.
13. Contact us
For questions about cookies or privacy choices, email info@esperanzatourism.co.ke, call or WhatsApp +254 728 134489, or use our Contact Us page.
