Morning collection and Giraffe Centre
Your driver guide collects you at approximately 8:30 am and travels toward the southern suburbs. Begin at the Giraffe Centre where staff introduce the giraffes and explain the centre’s conservation work. Follow the staff instructions at the viewing area, including any current guidance on feeding and photography.
Leave enough time to reach the Sheldrick Nursery before its booked public session. The order of the morning stops may change if your hotel location makes a different arrangement more practical.
Booked elephant nursery visit
Arrive with the valid reservation issued by the Sheldrick Wildlife Trust. The public visit normally runs from 11:00 am to noon, except on 25 December, and advance booking is required. Join the visitor area to observe the young elephants’ care routine and listen to the keepers’ account of the rehabilitation programme.
Observe from the permitted space and allow the keepers to direct the experience. Private elephant encounters and adoption privileges are not included. The required park gate fee is included in this package even though no national park game drive is scheduled.
Lunch in the Karen area
After the nursery session, continue to the agreed lunch venue. One meal is included, with dietary needs and the menu arrangement confirmed in advance. This break provides time to relax after the morning visits before moving into the historical part of the day.
Drinks outside the listed arrangement, shopping and any extra food are paid separately. The stop is chosen for the route rather than linked to a compulsory shopping visit.
Karen Blixen Museum and return
Spend the afternoon at Karen Blixen Museum, visiting the former farmhouse and available grounds with interpretation of the author’s life and the site’s historical setting. The visit connects the objects and rooms with the wider story of the former farm, while leaving time for questions and photographs where permitted.
Return to your agreed Nairobi drop off around 4:30 pm, depending on traffic. The excursion concludes on the same day without an overnight stay.

This is a one day excursion with no overnight accommodation. The planning window is approximately 8:30 am to 4:30 pm and the total duration is approximately 8 hours. Allow roughly 2 to 3 hours of combined road travel across the day, depending on your hotel and traffic. Times include neither a guarantee of traffic conditions nor a fixed wildlife viewing schedule; your collection and expected return are confirmed for your hotel and travel date.
Private transport means that your road vehicle and driver guide serve your party. Public attractions, museum galleries and scheduled host presentations may also welcome other visitors. The excursion is confirmed only after a valid Sheldrick reservation is available. The public nursery session is unavailable on 25 December.
Expect walking at the attractions and periods of standing during the public nursery session. Discuss any mobility needs before reserving.
Provide each traveller’s age, nationality, residency category and any dietary or mobility requirements before quotation. Included fees are calculated from those details, and no price is published until the trip is quoted. Wildlife sightings, weather and mountain views cannot be guaranteed. Avoid planning a tight onward flight around the estimated return time.
