About this safari
A week gives this Kenya family safari space to combine four destinations without sacrificing the full wildlife days in Amboseli and the Masai Mara. Two nights in Amboseli are followed by one night at Naivasha, one night near Lake Nakuru and two nights in the Mara. The result is a broad introduction to Kenya’s landscapes with both iconic animals and quieter lakeside moments.
Your driver guide stays with the road safari, tailoring comfort stops and wildlife explanations to the ages in your group. Amboseli offers elephant observation and the possibility of Kilimanjaro views. Naivasha provides a pause between the longer drives, while Nakuru adds rhino searching and woodland habitats before the journey reaches the Mara grasslands.
All overnight stays are in hotels, lodges or permanent tented rooms selected during quotation. For destination details, explore Amboseli, Naivasha, Lake Nakuru and Masai Mara. Contact Esperanza Tourism with your travel dates and children’s ages so the room configuration and road schedule can be planned properly.

Your safari itinerary
Open each day to view the route, activities, meals, transport and accommodation details.
Meet your guide in Nairobi for a morning departure toward Amboseli. Take time to discuss children’s routines, meal preferences and any mobility requirements before leaving the city. The journey includes a comfort stop, with lunch arranged according to the arrival time and the location of your chosen lodge or camp.
Once your family has settled in, head into the park for an introductory drive if the day’s timing allows. Amboseli’s open scenery makes it rewarding to watch how elephant groups and grazing animals move between dry areas and wetlands. Your guide will explain wildlife viewing etiquette and help younger travellers use their eyes before reaching for a camera. Dinner and overnight are in the Amboseli area.
Start with an early outing, using the cooler morning to explore Amboseli’s animal habitats. Watch for elephant families, buffalo and birds around the wetter areas, and compare the different ways animals find food and water. Your guide can make the drive interactive for children through observation questions and simple track interpretation from the vehicle.
Return for lunch and a restful midday period before heading out again in the afternoon. This second drive allows you to revisit a promising sighting or explore another part of the park rather than repeating the morning route automatically. Clear weather may reveal Kilimanjaro, but the mountain is not a guaranteed feature. Spend a second night at the same accommodation with dinner included.
Have an early breakfast before setting off toward Naivasha through the wider Nairobi corridor. This is a long transfer, with the estimated driving time excluding comfort stops and possible traffic delays. Your guide schedules breaks and an included lunch stop to keep the day manageable, especially for younger travellers.
Arrive at your Naivasha hotel or lodge and allow the family to rest after the road journey. Enjoy the lake setting from the property’s approved viewing areas and follow staff advice about hippos and other wildlife near the grounds. The standard programme does not include a boat ride this afternoon. Any optional lake activity should be booked separately and may be better scheduled before departure the next morning if time permits. Dinner is included.
After breakfast, travel north toward Lake Nakuru National Park. The shorter drive gives the day a different rhythm from yesterday’s transfer, leaving more time for wildlife viewing. Your guide coordinates lunch with the selected accommodation or carries a packed meal so the safari can follow a practical route inside the park.
Look for rhinos, buffalo and giraffes as you explore grassland clearings and wooded areas. At lake viewpoints, discuss the role of water levels and feeding conditions in attracting different birds. Flamingos may be present, but their abundance changes and is never assured. Continue viewing at a pace that suits the family before reaching your Nakuru area lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.
Breakfast is followed by the drive toward the Masai Mara through the Narok region. Your driver plans breaks along the route and arranges lunch without creating a tight arrival deadline. As you approach the reserve area, the landscape becomes more open and the final road sections may be slower or rougher than the main highway.
Check into your chosen lodge or permanent tented accommodation for two nights. An afternoon game drive is included when arrival and entry times make it practical; otherwise, relax and prepare for tomorrow’s full wildlife day. Your guide will introduce the Mara’s habitats and help you recognise common antelope and grazing herds. Return for dinner and a comfortable night before the next day’s adventure.
Dedicate today to wildlife viewing in the Masai Mara. Begin after breakfast and allow your guide to choose tracks based on animal activity, visibility and the family’s priorities. The safari may pause for a long observation of feeding elephants or follow signs of predator movement, while keeping a respectful distance and avoiding crowded sightings where possible.
Packed lunch at an approved picnic place supports a longer outing, while a midday return to the lodge is available to discuss if the accommodation location allows it. Migration herds are seasonal and any river activity depends on natural movements. Optional ballooning and community visits are not part of the included programme. Finish the day back at your accommodation for dinner and your final safari overnight.
Enjoy breakfast, check your luggage and leave the Mara area for Nairobi. Your guide plans the return around comfort stops and the agreed drop off point, allowing time for the family to reflect on the week’s experiences. An additional morning game drive is not included, helping keep the final day’s travel expectations clear.
The safari ends at your Nairobi hotel or airport terminal. Breakfast is covered; lunch, dinner and any further overnight accommodation are arranged separately. An evening international flight or an additional Nairobi night is usually easier to coordinate than an early afternoon departure. Confirm your onward plans with Esperanza Tourism before booking so the final schedule can be adjusted when necessary.
